Inzamam ul Haq's decision to step down as the chief selector has resulted in a financial loss of PKR 15 million for him. Under his three-year contract with the PCB, Inzamam was receiving a monthly salary of PKR 250,000, and the contract included a notice period of six months.

Facing allegations of a conflict of interest, Inzamam took the initiative to resign on October 30, 2023, allowing the PCB to conduct a transparent inquiry into the allegations.

The Fact-Finding Committee, consisting of five members, was formed by the PCB to investigate allegations of a conflict of interest in the team selection process reported by the media. The committee's findings will be submitted to the PCB Management for further consideration.

Despite his voluntary resignation, Inzamam continued to make strong statements in the media, leading the PCB to accept his resignation.

According to sources within the PCB, since Inzamam chose to resign on his own, the board is not obligated to pay him the six months' salary. Had the PCB decided to terminate his contract prematurely, they would have been required to pay a substantial sum of PKR 15 million, equivalent to a monthly salary of 2.5 million rupees over a six-month period.

Inquiring about the status of the Fact-Finding Committee, PCB sources suggested that it appeared to have concluded its investigation. However, the final decision on the matter would be made by Zakauddin Ashraf, the Chairman of the Management Committee, upon his return from India.

Inzamam, who was appointed as the chairman of the national men's selection committee on August 7, 2023, responded to the accusations by acknowledging his directorial position in the Yazoo International Company. In a TV interview, Inzamam clarified that while he holds a director's position, the company is not involved in managing cricketers.

Notably, other directors of the company include wicketkeeper Muhammad Rizwan and a players' agent named Talha Rehmani.
