The announcement of player retentions for PSL 9 is scheduled for December 7
Islamabad United has secured the services of right arm pacer Naseem Shah for a staggering 45 million rupees.
According to details, several franchises were interested in signing Naseem considering his fan following. The 20-year old was previously associated with Quetta Gladiators. However, Islamabad United successfully secured his services. Sources revealed that the remuneration for Naseem will be approximately 45 million rupees.
The announcement of player retentions for PSL 9 is scheduled for December 7, 2023 but decisions on budget and salary cap are still pending. Keeping in view the category, franchises can retain up to eight players. Last year's salary cap was 13 hundred thousand dollars per team.
PSL also faces another issue of scheduling. PCB has sent two schedules to franchises, one with 4 venues, and the other with 2 venues. The first match is scheduled between Lahore Qalandars and Islamabad United, with the event starting on February 18 in Lahore. At that time, severe cold weather and fog are expected, so some circles have suggested starting the event in Karachi and then moving to Punjab until the weather improves.
Moreover, Peshawar Zalmi has demanded from PCB that the team's matches be held at home venues.
