Islamabad United has issued a fitness report on their recent acquisition, right-arm pacer Naseem Shah, who joined the team after previously being part of the Quetta Gladiators.

The franchise took to their official social media platform to share the news, stating that “@iNaseemShah is bowling regularly in the nets. His recovery is going really well.”

Last month, Pakistan Chief Selector Wahab Riaz conveyed his hope that by the time the Pakistan Super League (PSL) season 9 kicks off on February 17, Naseem will be fit and ready to represent Islamabad United.

“Naseem Shah has recovered from injury and is undergoing rehab at the NCA. We don't want to put too much load on him. Hopefully by the PSL, he will be fit to turn out for Islamabad United,” Wahab had said.

However, as per reports, the PCB is reluctant to allow Naseem's involvement in the entire PSL season following his return from injury.

The young pacer was injured during the Asia Cup in September, after which he underwent surgery in the United Kingdom. Following the surgery, he remained in the UK for two months for rehabilitation and initial training as the PCB covered his medical costs and he received continuous care from a team of expert medical staff.
