In the second T20I against Pakistan, England's captain Jos Buttler etched his name in cricket history, becoming the ninth player to achieve the remarkable milestone of scoring 3000 runs in the shortest format of the game.

Buttler joins the esteemed ranks alongside cricketing luminaries such as Virat Kohli, Babar Azam, Rohit Sharma, and David Warner, among others, after notching his 73rd run in the match.

His splendid innings of 84 runs off 51 balls, studded with eight boundaries and three sixes, propelled the home team's charge as they sought to post a formidable total against Pakistan.

The list of players to achieve the feat of scoring 3000 T20I runs now includes names like Virat Kohli, Babar Azam, Rohit Sharma, Martin Guptill, Paul Stirling, Aaron Finch, David Warner, Mohammad Rizwan, and the newest addition, Jos Buttler.

While Pakistan made an early breakthrough by dismissing Phil Salt in the fourth over, England recovered admirably with Buttler and Will Jacks forging a resilient 71-run partnership, steering the hosts back into contention.

Despite England appearing set for a commanding total, a spirited resurgence from the Pakistani bowlers, notably Haris Rauf, Imad Wasim, and Shaheen Afridi, curtailed their momentum.

In the toss earlier today, Pakistan's captain Babar Azam opted to bowl first. The match also marked the highly anticipated return of England's Jofra Archer to the international arena after a year-long absence, while Pakistan's Haris Rauf made a comeback after a three-month hiatus from the team.
