Afghanistan registered eight-wicket victory over Pakistan in the ICC World Cup on Monday in Chennai.

Following the loss, the cricket fraternity continues to heavily criticize the national team for their significant failure.

Former wicketkeeper-batsman, Kamran Akmal, did not hold back in his criticism as well. During a debate on a local news channel, Akmal stated that if Pakistan wants to improve cricket in the country, Babar Azam & Co. should not win their remaining games in the World Cup.

"They shouldn’t win their upcoming games, then only cricket in Pakistan will get better. They will start the same thing if they get back to form,” Akmal said.

The former cricketer was immediately interrupted by the anchor, who said it is unlikely to see Pakistan intentionally lose matches in the tournament. Akmal clarified that it's not about losing matches but rather about humbling their egos.

"It is not about losing the matches, but their egos will be buried,” Akmal responded.

Babar-led side has been under intense scrutiny from both fans and experts since their loss to Afghanistan. Several former cricketers have questioned Babar's captaincy, while others have raised concerns about the players' fitness levels.

Standing on the verge of elimination with just two wins in five matches, Pakistan will next face South Africa in Chennai on Friday.
