Right-handed batter Kamran Ghulam commented on being included in Pakistan's Test squad for the home series against New Zealand that begins on December 26.

On his social media handle, Kamran thanked Allah. "Alhamdulillah," Kamran wrote.

Kamran, who made 597 runs in eight Quaid-e-Azam Trophy 2022-23 matches, replaced Azhar Ali, who retired from Test cricket following the England series.

The right-handed batter will make his debut appearance for the national team after being dropped without competing last year.

Kamran, who is from Upper Dir, was called up for his first Test match for the Bangladesh trip after he set a record of 1249 runs in the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy 2020–21.

He returned without playing and was later dropped from the following tour.

Pakistan made two changes to their squad after being humiliated by England. Hasan and Kamran Ghulam replaced Mohammad Ali and Azhar Ali (Retired).
