Kandy Falcons have announced that Bangladeshi pacer Shoriful Islam will join their squad as a replacement for Pakistan's Mohammad Ali in the ongoing LPL 2024.

Shoriful, who previously played for the Colombo Strikers in the LPL, went unsold in this season's players' draft but has been called up to fill the vacancy left by Mohammad Ali.

Ali has been selected as the 15th player for the Pakistan Shaheens’ red-ball squad for their upcoming tour to Darwin, Australia, where they will face Bangladesh A in both red-ball and white-ball matches.

Prior to the tour, Ali will attend a preparatory camp in Karachi from July 8th to 13th under the guidance of Pakistan's red-ball head coach, Jason Gillespie. The tour schedule includes two four-day matches against Bangladesh A, set to take place from July 19th to 22nd and from July 26th to 29th.

Shoriful will join fellow Bangladeshi cricketers Taskin Ahmed, Mustafizur Rahman, and Towhid Hridoy in the LPL. Taskin Ahmed has been picked up by the Colombo Strikers, while Mustafizur Rahman and Towhid Hridoy are playing for the Dambulla Warriors.
