England came out strong against New Zealand today at the Gabba in a T20 World Cup game they won by 20 runs.

From the first ball, openers Alex Hales and Jos Buttler stepped on the gas and put the Kiwi bowling attack to the sword.

But there was a lot of trouble in the fifth over when England was 0/45. Buttler hit the third ball of Mitchell Santner's second over into the air for eight runs, and Kane Williamson dived and claimed it that he has taken the catch.

Buttler started to leave as the umpires got together to talk about whether or not the catch had been made. Williamson showed the umpires that he had dropped the catch but kept it in the end.

Replays showed that the ball rolled out of Williamson's hands and hit the ground before the New Zealand star grabbed it to his chest.

Buttler walked back to the crease, and as he did, Williamson made a slight apology, which the English opener seemed to brush off with a smile.

Fans who watched the game weren't happy that Williamson said he caught the ball, even though replays showed that he didn't hold on.

England have been cheated of a run there. Always something with these Kiwis.

I’m not sure Kane Williamson can possibly think he caught that. It wasn’t in any part of his hand when it bounced

Buttler is dismissed for 8 but replays show that Williamson hasn't taken the catch.

"A huge moment in the match."
