The Lahore Qalandars, led by young Shaheen Shah Afridi, made history by winning their first-ever Pakistan Super League (PSL) title last year.

After seven long years of waiting, the Qalandars' fans finally celebrated a championship win.

The franchise's success was the result of a combination of factors, including a proper player development program, open trials, setting up a high-performance center, and grooming superstars like Haris Rauf, Dilbar Hussain, Salman Irshad, Shaheen Afridi, Abdullah Shafique, Kamran Ghulam, Harry Brook, David Wiese, and Tim David.

Now, with the PSL set to begin again, the Qalandars' owners have their sights set on an even bigger goal: becoming the first team in PSL history to defend their title.

Speaking to GeoSuper.tv, owner Atif Rana shared his aspirations for the upcoming season. "We have achieved so much in our PSL journey, and now the only thing we wish for is to become the first-ever team to win back-to-back PSL titles," he said.

The Qalandars defeated the Multan Sultans by 42 runs in the final to win the PSL title last year. In his first stint as captain, Shaheen Shah Afridi led the team to victory with a strong performance.
