Haysman is currently in Pakistan to cover the National T20 Cup as part of the commentary team
Renowned commentator Mike Haysman has lauded pacers Shahnawaz Dahani and Naseem Shah after witnessing their performances during the ongoing National T20 Cup.
Haysman is currently in Pakistan to cover the event as part of the commentary team.
While speaking on the PCB Podcast, Haysman praised the young Pakistan pacers for their energy on the field.
“Dahani has got excitement about his game. He has got energy about his game, he is the sort of bloke who lights that fire. He lifts the whole team when he picks up a wicket and I think that sort of stuff is priceless,” said Haysman.
“Naseem [Shah] as well, he is something special,” he added.
Sindh’s Dahani is currently one of the top wicket-takers in the tournament with nine wickets in six games, meanwhile Southern Punjab’s Naseem has five wickets in six games.
Haysman was also impressed with 18-year-old left-arm spinner Faisal Akram, who is part of the Southern Punjab Squad and has picked up one wicket in three games.
“I was interested to see a couple of guys. The young left-arm [Faisal] Akram, I quite liked him, he is very young,” he said. “I actually had a conversation with Yasir Shah about him and he was very impressed with him, he liked what he saw. That too me was a nice little pat on the back for him [Akram].”
