Mike Hesson, the head coach of Islamabad United, has disclosed the rationale behind the team's decision to include the Shah brothers in their lineup during the PSL 9 draft.

Naseem Shah will now be joined by his siblings, Hunain Shah and Ubaid Shah, in Islamabad United for the upcoming season of the Pakistan Super League.

Hesson emphasized that the selection of all three brothers was primarily a cricket-related decision.

"Naseem Shah wants his brothers to tread their own path. But you know from our perspective it was very much a cricket decision (to select all three brothers)," Hesson said in an interview with a cricket website.

According to Hesson, Hunain possesses the skills to contribute effectively in the middle and at the back end of the game.

"We felt he (Hunain Shah) was the best prepared to step into a playing 11 if required. From a bowling point of view, all his domestic performances and the national t20 cup suggested he was going really nicely and someone who could be used in the middle and at the back end," he said.

Acknowledging the humor surrounding the selection of all three brothers, Hesson expressed excitement about the diverse strengths each sibling brings to the team.

"There's a bit of humor around the fact that we've picked all three brothers but they're all slightly different and the fact that two of them will likely be playing many games for Islamabad united is an exciting opportunity," he concluded.
