Atleast four Habib Bank Limited (HBL) Pakistan Super League (PSL) franchises have asked the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) to stop the Men in Green head coach-cum-chief selector Misbahul Haq from associating himself with the league.

According to details, these franchises believe that allowing Misbah to work with one of the teams will lead to conflict of interest as the former Pakistan captain is currently working for the national side.

Before Misbah was handed the dual role of head coach and chief selector by PCB, the board was of the opinion that officials associated with the national side won’t be allowed to work for PSL franchises simultaneously. But it reportedly changed its stance, later, as Misbah was not willing to accept the position offered by PCB, without permission of working in PSL.

In the previous editions of the league, former Pakistan head coach, Mickey Arthur, and bowling coach, Azhar Mahmood, were working in the same role for Karachi Kings while chief selector Inzamamul Haq was part of the Lahore Qalandars franchise.

Sources have revealed that two franchises are interested in employing the services of Misbah but the final decision is yet to be taken.

The draft for the next season of HBL PSL is likely to take place in late November or early December, this year.
