Pakistan’s head coach-cum-chief selector Misbahul Haq is unhappy with the appointment of the new coaches of the High Performance Center (HPC) without his input.
The coaches for the HPC were finalised after the recommendations from the panel comprising of the HPC’s Grant Bradburn, Saqlain Mushtaq and Shahid Aslam. The coaches also include the head coaches of each provincial side.
Basit Ali, Abdul Rehman, Faisal Iqbal, Abdul Razzaq, Shahid Anwar and Wasim Khan will provide Misbah recommendations to add players in the national and provincial side.

According to sources, Misbah believes that an important decision such as this should have been taken after the recommendations of everyone involved. Misbah had previously supervised many important decisions however the new coaches of the HPC were appointed through a process of interviews and shortlisting this time around.
The head coach of Central Punjab, who won the last tournament, Ijaz Junior has been ignored in the process which is one of Misbah’s reservations.
Four new coaches have been appointed as selection committee members in the form of Basit Ali, Abdul Razzaq, Faisal Iqbal and Shahid Anwar.
Kabir Khan, Arshad Khan, Azam Khan and Ijaz Junior will no longer be part of Misbah’s team after they did not receive a contract renewal.
