England's vice-captain Moeen Ali has expressed readiness to lead the team at the upcoming Twenty20 World Cup if skipper Jos Buttler misses part of the tournament due to paternity leave.

Buttler's third child is expected soon, with England's World Cup campaign starting against Scotland on June 4 in Barbados.

Moeen, who has previously captained England 12 times across T20s and one-day internationals, stated, “I feel I’ve captained enough for England, where he leaves, I just pick it up, and then when he comes back he just takes over again.”

“Whatever will happen, will happen. It’s not really difficult, because we speak often, me and Jos. We’re on the same page,” he added.

It's worth noting that both England and Pakistan are gearing up for their T20 World Cup campaigns by engaging in their final T20I series clash as part of their preparation.

The ongoing four-match series between the two teams serves as a crucial stepping stone, allowing them to fine-tune their strategies and carry forward the momentum into the upcoming mega-event.
