Mickey Arthur, the Head of Cricket at Derbyshire, expressed his excitement about Amir's signing
Falcons have secured a major signing with Pakistan fast bowler Mohammad Amir set to join their squad for the final six Vitality Blast group fixtures.
Amir will make his debut for the Falcons against Leicestershire Foxes on Saturday, 6 July.
With an impressive record of over 300 T20 wickets, Amir's addition is expected to strengthen Derbyshire's bowling lineup significantly. He will link up with the team after the conclusion of the ICC T20 World Cup, where he will represent Pakistan.
Amir's illustrious career includes triumphs in various cricketing tournaments, including the ICC Champions Trophy, T20 World Cup, Pakistan Super League, and the Vitality Blast.
His experience and skill make him a valuable asset for the Falcons as they aim for a spot in the Vitality Blast knockout stages.
Mickey Arthur, the Head of Cricket at Derbyshire, expressed his excitement about Amir's signing.
“The addition of Mohammad Amir to our T20 bowling ranks will give us a real boost for the second-half of the group stage, and he will be a key member of our attack as we look to progress.
“Since we found out he’d be going to the World Cup, we’ve been keen to make sure he is back with us for what is a key run-in in the Blast and I’m pleased that we’ve been able to get this over the line," Arthur said.
“I’ve often described him as the ‘Porsche’ of white ball bowlers, he’s a world-class player in this format and I’m looking forward to working with him again,” he concluded.
