Former Pakistan fast bowler Mohammed Amir, who is currently representing Desert Vipers in the ongoing ILT20 league has opened up about the possibility of rejoining the national team.

Muhammad Amir took retirement from international cricket in 2020, citing injustice against him by the then head coach Misbah-ul-Haq and bowling coach Waqar Younis.

Amir expressed his discontentment with the team management, stating that their actions had "spoiled" his image.

While speaking with his team, this week, Amir expressed his perspective on the current state of his cricketing career.

“At the moment, I have moved on,” Amir said, speaking at the Vipers’ team hotel this week. “I have different things in my life to do."

The former pacer, who has been away from international cricket for three years, hinted at the complexities of making a comeback in the evolving cricket landscape.

“Three years is a long period out of the international system. If you look at the Pakistan system right now, it is changing every single month, so you never know what is coming," he said.

“For me this debate is closed. After three years out, I don’t think it would be a sensible decision for me to come back. For now, at least. I don’t know what will happen in the next few years,” he concluded.
