The intricate dynamics of PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi's recent meeting with former cricketers have surfaced, revealing a session filled with both silence and strong opinions.

The consultation, which extended beyond two and a half hours, saw some former cricketers choosing to remain silent spectators while others voiced their concerns passionately. Throughout the discussion, Mohsin Naqvi demonstrated exceptional patience and tolerance, attentively listening to both criticism and suggestions.

Former cricketer Sadiq Muhammad was vocal about the team selection for the ICC T20 World Cup, emphasizing that only Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan were proper batters, while the rest were mere sloggers.

He highlighted that success in cricket comes from a well-rounded batting lineup and stressed the importance of correct team selection. During the exchange, when one former cricketer interrupted, Mohsin Naqvi firmly admonished the Director of Domestic Khurram Niazi, instructing him to remain silent.

Haroon Rashid, with his extensive tenure at the PCB, aired his grievances, while Saleem Yousuf lamented the board's handling of departmental cricket. Yousuf pointed out that departments used to nurture star players, and now, without their support, the task of preparing new talent falls solely on the PCB. Sikandar Bakht and Salman Butt were among those who took the most time to present their suggestions.

The PCB spared no effort in hosting the former cricketers, extending a VVIP protocol that included an elaborate tea service with biscuits and a sumptuous meal featuring various dishes, including mutton and chicken.

As a gesture of goodwill, the guests were also presented with gift packs containing a Pakistan team shirt, a PCB shirt, and a small purse.
