The consortium of Multan Sultans has been dissolved and Alamgir Tareen has taken over all the affairs of the franchise.

Ali Tareen, who was previously the co-owner, is no longer associated with the team in any capacity.

It must be noted that, after Ali Tareen’s absence during HBL PSL 6 draft, questions were raised regarding ownership of Multan Sultans. Later, there were also reports that Ali Tareen will only handle the matters of association team Southern Punjab.

In December 2018, the Multan Consortium led by Ali Tareen had won the franchise rights for the, previously named, ‘Sixth Team’ of Pakistan Super League (PSL) by exceeding the reserve price.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) had stated that the rights have been awarded for a period of seven years.
