Multan Sultans’ Moeen Ali is happy to participate in the fifth edition of HBL Pakistan Super League (PSL), taking place entirely in Pakistan, as it allowed the all-rounder to return to his mother’s place of birth.

While speaking to media after Sultans win over Lahore Qalandars on Friday, the England all-rounder reflected on the time he used to visit Pakistan with his father.

"I haven't been in Pakistan for maybe 15 years. I used to come every year to play with my dad at an academy and I felt the time was right to come again,” Moeen said. "It's an amazing place to come and play in. The fact that the whole PSL is in Pakistan is a huge achievement and it's great to be part of it.”

The 32-year-old also hopes to return to Pakistan with the England national team in future.

"I hope the England team will tour Pakistan Insha'Allah. I'm sure it's something they're talking about and I know other countries are also talking about coming,” he said. "There's close to 10 players from England and it shows that guys are keen to come and play here. The standard is high. If we do come back with the national team, we'll have the experience of playing in Pakistan.”

The all-rounder believes the quality of cricket played in PSL is of very high standard and challenges the foreign cricketers.

"The quality is very high. I've watched PSL before. It's always highly talked about with the best bowlers in the world in T20 cricket,” he said. "The talent in Pakistan has always been there and PSL will always be good for Pakistan. For us to come and play here, it's a big thing and to have a win under our belts in a tough game is great.”
