Nafay talks admiration for Babar and Rohit, social stardom via batting clips

Khawaja Nafay, rookie batter of Quetta Gladiators in PSL 9, shared his admiration for Rohit Sharma and Babar Azam, citing Rohit's ease against bowlers and Babar's consistent run-scoring as motivation.

Nafay, after a notable 31-ball 60 against Lahore Qalandars, attributed his success to hard work and dedication.

"Since I started playing cricket, I have followed Rohit Sharma and Babar Azam. Rohit plays all bowlers with ease, while whenever I saw Babar on TV, he was scoring runs. Seeing Babar Azam, I got motivated, and I worked hard to make runs," Nafay said.

"I have worked hard and practised a lot to reach this point. I had confidence in my hard work, and I succeeded in playing good innings in the PSL," he added.

Expressing gratitude for the trust shown by Gladiators' management, Nafay is focused on performing well in the remaining PSL matches.

"The team management has a lot of trust in me. This was only my second match in the PSL; there are still 8 matches, and I want to perform well in them.

"For now, it's just the PSL; we'll see what happens next later in my career. Our plan is to win the remaining matches, reach the playoffs, then make it to the final, and win," he added.

Nafay also revealed gaining social media fame for his shot range, initiated by uploading videos with the coach's permission.

"A friend suggested creating a social media account to upload my shots. I took permission from the coach, and then all the videos gained me popularity," he added.
