Hasan Ali has replaced Naseem in the Pakistan squad selected for World Cup 2023
Fast bowler Naseem Shah has been ruled out of international cricket for three to four months.
Naseem had suffered a shoulder injury during Asia Cup in a match against India on 11 September and was ruled out of the tournament.
Following thorough medical examinations and consultations with leading medical experts, Naseem has been advised to undergo surgery. He is expected to recover in three to four months.
Meanwhile, Hasan Ali has replaced Naseem in the Pakistan squad selected for World Cup 2023.
"Naseem Shah unfortunately got injured and he's our main bowler. Hasnain had an ankle operation. Ihsanullah had an elbow operation. We had few options left among fast bowlers due to injuries. Hassan Ali bowled well in the LPL and elsewhere recently. He is experienced and has played well for Pakistan previously in big events," Inzamam said to media in Lahore on Friday.
Naseem took to his social media account on X and shared his disappointment.
With a heavy heart, I'm sharing that I will not be part of this amazing team that will be representing our beloved country. While I'm disappointed, I believe everything is in Allah's hands. InshahAllah will be on the field very soon.
