Pakistan wicketkeeper-batsman, Mohammad Haris, emphasized the importance of batting with patience and focusing on taking singles and doubles.

Known for his ability to hit sixes and fours, Haris acknowledged the need to balance aggression with a more composed approach to maximize his scoring potential.

Haris recognized that by exercising patience at the crease, he could convert modest scores into substantial innings. He understood that by concentrating on rotating the strike and accumulating runs through singles and doubles, he could significantly improve his overall performance.

“I can hit sixes and fours, but I need to concentrate on taking singles and doubles as well,” Haris said while talking to a local news channel.

“If I bat with a little bit of patience, I can convert 35 runs into 50s and 50 runs into 70-run knocks. For that I need to practice ground shots and bring improvement in that area of my game,” he added.

Motivated by the desire to represent Pakistan across all three formats of the game, Haris emphasized that his aggressive style of play should not limit his ambitions to T20Is alone.

Drawing inspiration from legendary Australian cricketer Adam Gilchrist, who excelled in all formats despite being an attacking batsman, Haris aimed to follow a similar path and become a versatile player capable of contributing consistently in Test matches, One-Day Internationals (ODIs), and T20Is.

“My aim is to represent Pakistan in all three formats. Just because I play aggressively, doesn’t mean that I want to be restricted to T20Is only. Adam Gilchrist also used to play all formats, despite being an aggressive batter,” he concluded.
