‘Next level’ Babar Azam should break all the records: Inzamamul Haq

Pakistan’s former captain Inzamamul Haq has heaped praise on star batsman Babar Azam, stating that he has entered the next phase of his cricketing career.

The batting legend believes that Azam has the ability to break all the records in the future.

“Babar Azam is a great player. There is no doubt about it. The way he played during the [T20I] series, it was clear that he is next level player. He should break all the records considering the way he approaches the game,” said Inzamam on his official YouTube channel.

“If you look at his innings [in the fourth T20I], he showed maturity by forming a partnership with Fakhar Zaman, who was smashing the bowlers, rather than going for his own runs. This shows that he has now entered the next phase of his career as he understands what the team requires in a given situation and the importance of making other players play alongside him,” he added.

Pakistan won the four-match T20I series against South Africa, 3-1, where Azam was declared the player of the series.
