Pakistan women's cricket team captain, Nida Dar, has expressed confidence in her team's readiness to deliver a stellar performance in the upcoming Women's Asia Cup cricket tournament.

The team aims for a strong start by defeating arch-rivals India in their opening match, backed by rigorous preparations and a cohesive team combination.

Speaking exclusively to Cricket Pakistan before departing for Sri Lanka, Nida Dar highlighted the team's improved performance and boosted confidence. The team has developed a solid combination for the Asia Cup and is now playing advanced cricket, expecting positive results from their measures.

Dar emphasised the team's enthusiasm and determination, particularly for their match against defending champions India. Competing against a strong team like India enhances the players' morale and confidence.

After defeating India last year, Pakistan is stepping onto the field with the same aim for victory this time.

Pakistan is grouped with Nepal and the United Arab Emirates in Pool A. Dar stressed the importance of not underestimating any team, noting the unpredictable nature of T20 cricket. The team will prepare diligently for each match and strive for success through hard work and dedication.

The team's preparation included an intensive training camp at the Hanif Mohammad Regional High-Performance Center at Karachi's National Stadium.

Despite the hot weather, players worked on various skills under the supervision of coaches, focusing on fitness enhancement, batting, bowling, and fielding improvements. The use of advanced technology during the camp proved beneficial.

Nida Dar also praised the cricketers returning to the team, who earned their spots based on strong performances.

Notably, left-arm fast bowler Tasmia Wahab from Multan is a promising addition to the national squad. Such bowlers are rare in Asia, and Pakistan has a great opportunity to benefit from her skills. This addition is seen as a positive and pleasant development for the team.
