No resignations from any top officials of Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) came forward despite the management committee’s one-week ultimatum issued last week.

PCB Chief Executive Faisal Hasnain, and many other top directors, had received a one-week ultimatum last Sunday to accept a 30-40% cut to their current salaries or they could opt to resign and ‘go home’.

With no resignation of any PCB top official post deadline, the board members have admitted that their high salaries were not justified.

The management committee will now decide a new action plan next week as unannounced consent for the salary cut has been shown. Some officials are also expected to be dismissed.

According to sources, the new PCB administration was not satisfied with the heavy salaries of some directors and head of departments.

The monthly salary of Faisal Hasnain is around PKR 25.9 lakhs, Chief Financial Officer Javed Murtaza’s is PKR 14.1 lakhs while Director High Performance Nadeem Khan receives PKR 14.7 lakhs.

Director Infrastructure and Real Estate Nasir Hameed PKR 9 lakh, Director Media and Communication Sami Al Hasan Burney PKR 13.9 lakhs, Chief Medical Officer Najeebullah Soomro PKR 11.7 lakhs while Director International Cricket Operations Zakir Khan receives PKR 9.6 lakhs per month.

All these members were asked to either choose retrenchment or go home. The management committee will decide who should be dismissed with three-month salary and who should be retained.

Zakir Khan will retire on April 3 at the age of 60, but he also has three months. Director HR Serena Agha resigned a few days ago, she was given PKR 9.8 lakhs per month.
