PAK vs ENG: Mehran Mumtaz and others face fitness Test to earn Multan call-up

In a bid to assess the fitness levels of spinners excelling in domestic cricket, fitness tests have been scheduled over the next two days at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Lahore.

Sources reveal that five spinners, including Mehran Mumtaz, have been called up for evaluation.

The outcome of these tests could lead to the inclusion of one or two spinners in Pakistan’s squad for the second Test in Multan.

Spinners Nauman Ali and Zahid Mahmood, who were released from the squad ahead of the first Test, failed to meet the fitness standards in the earlier assessments.

The second Test between Pakistan and England is set to take place from October 15 to 19 at the same venue.
