Veteran spinner Frank Nsubuga made history on Wednesday in Guyana, as Uganda secured their first-ever victory at the ICC Men's T20 World Cup with a three-wicket win over Papua New Guinea.

At 43 years old and playing in his first T20 World Cup, Nsubuga delivered an exceptional performance, taking 2/4 to help bowl out Papua New Guinea for a mere 77 runs at the Guyana National Stadium. The Ugandan team then successfully chased down the target with ten balls to spare.

Nsubuga's remarkable economy, conceding only four runs in his full quota of four overs, set a new record for the fewest runs given by any bowler in Men's T20 World Cup history. This surpassed the previous record of seven runs conceded by South African quick Anrich Nortje against Sri Lanka earlier in the tournament.

Nsubuga was one of four Ugandan bowlers to claim two wickets, with Alphesh Ramjani (2/17), Cosmas Kyewuta (2/17), and Juma Miyaga (2/10) also making significant contributions as Papua New Guinea were dismissed in the final over of their innings.

In Uganda's reply, they faced early pressure at 6/3, but Riazat Ali Shah (33) remained composed, ensuring the team achieved their maiden win in the Men's T20 World Cup. Riazat was awarded player of the match for his gritty knock.
