The women's national selection committee, headed by Saleem Jaffar, has unveiled a list of 20 potential players for the upcoming white-ball series against West Indies women.
This series is set to be held at the National Bank Stadium in Karachi from 18th April to 3rd May and comprises three ODIs, a part of the ICC Women's Championship 2022-25, and five T20Is.
The ODIs are scheduled for 18th, 21st, and 23rd April, starting at 3:30 pm, while the T20Is will commence at 7:30 pm on 26th, 28th, and 30th April, as well as on 2nd and 3rd May.
Among the players, Ayesha Zafar (with 29 ODIs and 20 T20Is), Gul Feroza (2 ODIs), Rameen Shamim (3 ODIs and 4 T20Is), Sidra Nawaz (67 ODIs and 56 T20Is), and Tuba Hassan (1 ODI and 21 T20Is) are returning to the squad. However, Omaima Sohail and Shawaal Zulfiqar, who were part of the previous 17-member squad against New Zealand women's team but are currently recovering from shoulder injuries, are not included in the camp probables.

The remaining five players from the probables camp will be released to participate in the upcoming domestic Women's One-Day Tournament, the details of which will be announced later.

Chief Selector Saleem Jaffar: “The selection committee has chosen 20 probable players based on their performances in both domestic and international circuits. Ayesha Zafar, Gul Feroza, Rameen Shamim, Sidra Nawaz, and Tuba Hassan have been added to the probables camp following their performances in the last domestic event, as we aim to broaden our pool of players.
“The upcoming series against West Indies, which includes ICC Women’s Championship matches, is of utmost importance as we strive to earn maximum points to strengthen our claim for direct qualification in the ICC Women’s 50-over World Cup.”
The 20-player squad is set to gather in Karachi starting Monday, 1st April, embarking on a seven-day training camp at the Hanif Mohammad High-Performance Centre from 2nd April onwards. Following this, both the squad members and the team management will head back to their respective hometowns on 9th April to celebrate Eid. The squad is scheduled to join in Karachi on 13th April for further activities.
