Pakistan suffer double injury setbacks ahead of Lahore leg of New Zealand T20Is

Pakistan faces a dual blow as key players Mohammad Rizwan and Irfan Khan are sidelined for the final two T20Is against New Zealand in Lahore.

The Pakistan Cricket Board's medical panel received radiology reports indicating the necessity for their absence. After careful consideration with team management, the decision was made to rest both players for the upcoming matches.

They will undergo rehabilitation under the supervision of the PCB medical panel at the National Cricket Academy.

Rizwan experienced discomfort in his right hamstring while batting in the third T20I against New Zealand on Sunday.

Rizwan, who had scored 23 not out from 22 balls before leaving the field and retiring hurt, was withdrawn from the match as a precautionary measure.

Sources indicate that Rizwan's injury is of a serious nature, prompting the medical panel to advise him to rest for a period of two to four weeks. This development casts doubt on his availability for the upcoming tours to Ireland and England.
