Pakistan to take helm of ACC presidency next year

Pakistan is set to be given the prestigious position of the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) Presidency next year, following a crucial meeting held in Bali, Indonesia.

According to the details, the delegation representing Pakistan was led by Acting Chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and Chief Election Commissioner Shah Khawar, accompanied by the Chief Operating Officer (COO) Salman Naseer.

The sources revealed that by profession a lawyer, Shah Khawar avoided becoming a silent spectator in the meeting and raised objections at several instances, expressing his disagreement. He consistently adopted a positive style throughout the entire meeting.

President of the Sri Lankan cricket Shami Silva, while praising Jay Shah's leadership, suggested extending his presidency for another year. In response, Shah diplomatically addressed the proposal, stating that they have no objection to it, but it should be documented in the minutes that Sri Lanka has given its presidency to Jay Shah for the second year, so that when our turn comes next year, Sri Lanka does not come forward again.

It has been decided that in January of next year, a representative from the PCB will become the president of the Asian Cricket Council for a two-year term.

Interestingly, there was a specific delay in sending the minutes of the previous meeting, and Salman Naseer had also written a letter about it, but no response was given.

Shah Khawar raised a point in the meeting that minutes of the previous meeting were sent three days ago, which should have been sent right after the meeting.

When Jay Shah started reading and approving each point of the agenda immediately, Shah Khawar objected and said that first, there should be a little discussion before giving approval.
