During the press conference, England captain Ben Stokes announced that Rehan will play his debut Test tomorrow.
Ahmed, a leg-spinner, will come into the side as a replacement for Will Jacks. He will become the youngest player to play Test cricket for England Men's team at 18 years and 126 days.
Earlier this year, Ahmed impressed in the ICC U19 Men's Cricket World Cup as England's second-highest wicket-taker with 12 wickets in four matches at an average of 12.58.
England, who are leading the three-Test series 2-0, also made one more change to their playing mix with Ben Foakes coming in for Jimmy Anderson.
Reminder for all is that England lead the three-match series 2-0, as they are playing longer formats in Pakistan after 17 years.
The third Test will be played in Karachi from December 17, 2022, to December 21, 2022.
England XI: Zak Crawley, Ben Duckett, Ollie Pope, Joe Root, Harry Brook, Ben Stokes (c), Ben Foakes, Rehan Ahmed, Ollie Robinson, Mark Wood, Jack Leach.
