Former Indian cricketers Irfan Pathan and Aakash Chopra took to social media and trolled Pakistan for their unexpected exit from the 2023 Asia Cup.

Pathan expressed his views on a potential India-Sri Lanka final, suggesting it would be a more evenly contested match.

"Playing finals against Sri Lanka will be better for team India as it won't be a one sided affair," Pathan wrote on 'X'.

Pathan also commended Sri Lanka's recent form, acknowledging their balanced team and strong batting lineup.

"Sri Lanka in the last couple of games have played exceedingly well. They have pure batters who can bowl. Long batting line up. Team for the future for sure. #srilankacricket," he further wrote.

"Didn't realise that Pakistan will turn out to be the third best team in Asia. Well played, Sri Lanka. #AsiaCup," Chopra wrote on 'X'

In the virtual semi-final between Pakistan and Sri Lanka at the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo, Pakistan posted a score of 252/7 in 42 overs. However, Sri Lanka, led by Dasun Shanaka, secured a nail-biting two-wicket victory via the DLS method off the final delivery, earning their spot in the final against India on Sunday.
