The chief of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), Mohsin Naqvi, has emphasized the importance of finding the "best possible window" for the tenth edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL).

Naqvi has stated that the PCB will engage in discussions with key stakeholders to determine the optimal timing for PSL 10, ensuring it does not clash with international commitments.

Highlighting PSL's significance as Pakistan's premier cricket brand, Naqvi acknowledged the potential challenges of organizing the league alongside other cricket events but affirmed the PCB's readiness to address them.

“PSL is Pakistan’s brand which is why it will get its due importance. Holding PSL 10 alongside international commitments will be a challenge but we are ready for it,” Naqvi said.

It is worth noting that the PCB traditionally hosts the PSL between January and March each year. However, as reported by Cricket Pakistan previously, organizing PSL 10 in 2025 during this timeframe presents significant challenges.

In January 2025, the Pakistani team will conclude their tour of South Africa and then head to New Zealand for a limited-overs tour. In February, plans have been announced for a One Day triangular series involving teams from New Zealand, South Africa, and Pakistan. Additionally, Pakistan is set to host the Champions Trophy during February and March 2025. Hence, concerns have been raised by franchises about finding a suitable window for the tournament.

The tenth edition of PSL also marks the end of the current contracts, and discussions about expanding the number of teams and renewing contracts with existing franchises are on the horizon. The success of the 10th edition is crucial for maintaining the brand value of PSL.

Further deliberations on the scheduling of PSL will occur during the upcoming council meeting, where stakeholders will contribute to the decision-making process.
