The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has decided to postpone the second edition of the Women’s T20 League and is now planning to hold it in September under a new name.
Previously, former PCB chairman Ramiz Raja had proposed the league to run concurrently with the upcoming eighth edition of HBL Pakistan Super League, which will take place from February 13 to March 26.

However, the league has been postponed on the recommendation of the new PCB management Committee, led by current chairman Najam Sethi.
According to sources, one of the reasons of postponing the event was the potential clash with the inaugural Women’s Indian Premier League (WIPL), which is likely to be played from March 3 to 26.
The board is also planning to invest on infrastructure, in order to increase the pool of local women players in the country, which will help in forming the teams for the event and increasing the level of competition.
PCB is now looking to hold the league as separate event with four teams later this year. Few PSL franchises have also shown interest in purchasing teams in the league.
