The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) General Manager Commercial Imran Ahmad Khan has resigned from his position after being overlooked for the promotion.

Usman Wahla has been identified as the candidate to lead the Pakistan Super League (PSL) Head of Department instead, a role which Imran considered himself to be worthy of.

According to details, Imran Ahmad has been a part of PSL's organising team. He was responsible for remaining in contact with players, combing through the problems faced by the franchise owners, and also playing a vital role in attaining title sponsorship for the tournament.

Regarded as an important cog in the system by the PSL franchise owners, Imran has not been given the respect that he perhaps deserved.

Imran Ahmad Khan was hoping to become PSL's Head of Department but instead, Usman Wahla was appointed in his position. Citing disappointment as one of the reasons, Imran put forth his resignation.

The outgoing PCB GM Commerical will remain at his position until the HBL PSL 7 draft is concluded and will formally resign from his position after that.

Imran's departure will come as a huge blow to the franchises and the event itself as he was an integral part of it. Sources have informed that Imran will likely join hands with a PSL franchise owner in Sharjah and will handle the tournament's matters.
