The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has given Pakistan fans the opportunity to showcase their artistic skills and become someone who can design the next shirt.

The competition was announced by PCB itself and will conclude on May 25. The PCB has taken this decision to engage with the fans on a different level whilst simultaneously upgrading the style of the official kit.

The new-look designed by the fans will be implemented on the kits for the year 2022-23 and this is what the press release read: "Kits designs are requested to be based on a singular theme. Each proposal can include a maximum of two themes, upon which a set of kit designs should be submitted for all formats. The same theme would be carried on to the traveling apparel, fan apparel, and other official PCB merchandise."

PCB  shared all the dos and don'ts in the document along with the competition announcement which included references and guidance points.

"For the clash kit, the design can constitute a major color apart from the traditional home kit colors. The creative theme or the elements on kit design can reflect Pakistani History, Culture, Key values, Artistic values, or other facets that showcase a clear Pakistani identity and vision behind the designs," the statement further read.

Here's what the PCB advertisement for this particular thing looks like:

📢 Calling all creative minds 📢

The deadline for submission is 25th May 2022.

There are some additional things  that are needed to be taken into  account by the designers:

  • All  designs are  to be submitted in the form of a watermarked PDF presentation
  • In the first phase, the artists can only submit concept kits of ODI, T20I, Tests, and Clash kit in digital format with written description of the concept and elements
  • The rest of the designs such as Fanwear, Travelling apparel & Guidebook can be done once a company qualifies for the second phase
  • Only selected parties will be approached for the financial proposals and Phase 2
