PCB officials set to appear before NA Standing Committee

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) officials are set to appear before the National Assembly’s Standing Committee on Thursday. The meeting will focus on the expenditures of the board along with the annual salaries of its employees for the past three years.

The board has been asked to present the details for the allowances, salaries and benefits provided to the officials.

PCB’s Chairman Ehsan Mani was asked to appear for the meeting but he will not be attending it. However, he is expected to appear for the Public Accounts Committee meeting that is scheduled for September 30. The committee will discuss the PCB’s special audit reports along with the audit reports of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) season one and two.

The National Assembly’s Standing Committee meeting will be held in the Parliament House in Islamabad inside the committee room and will be headed by Chairman Agha Hassan Baloch.

PCB officials will also be asked about the question posed by member of the national assembly Choudhry Faqir Ahmad about the construction of a cricket stadium in Bhurewala.

PCB’s Director Media Samiul Hasan Burney, when contacted, revealed that the meeting was initially set for August 30 which was then delayed to September 11 and will now take place on Thursday. He added that the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Wasim Khan, Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Javed Murtaza and the Senior General Manager Admin will take part in the meeting.
