The meeting of the (Pakistan Cricket Board) PCB Board of Governors was held in Lahore on Wednesday.

According to sources, during the meeting, concerns were expressed regarding the lack of excitement surrounding the ninth edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL). Many participants shared the view that despite organizing such a significant event in the country, there is a noticeable absence of buzz, with minimal advertising and promotions.

Chairman Mohsin Naqvi concurred with these concerns. Upon questioning officials, it was revealed that the management committee had decided to cut down the advertising budget in the previous meeting as a cost-cutting measure. In response, the chairman emphasized the importance of generating hype for the league and promptly increased the promotional budget. He made it clear that there should be no excuses and urged the creation of an outstanding cricket atmosphere, including banners, big boards, and extensive media advertising.

During the meeting, discussions also revolved around Pakistan's hosting of the Champions Trophy next year. Chairman Naqvi stressed the need for the board to ensure top-notch arrangements for the event to avoid any criticism. Further deliberations on various matters, including venue selections, are scheduled for the near future.

Interestingly, the chairman expressed dissatisfaction with his room at the PCB headquarters. Sources reveal that the services of a special designer have been enlisted to enhance the room, and decoration work has already commenced.
