Former captain resigned from the PCB Cricket Committee on Monday
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is set to relax one of the major requirements advertised for the Men in Green’s head coach role, in order to pave the way for the former skipper Misbahul Haq to be offered the job.
Misbah has emerged as the top contender for the head coach position after he resigned from the PCB Cricket Committee and formally applied for the post on Monday.
Misbah steps down from PCB Cricket Committee
The board had recently advertised and invited high level applications for the vacant head coach position till August 26.
According to one of the requirements stated in the advertisement, the head coach applicant needed three years of coaching experience to be eligible for the job.
Although, Misbah meet all the other requirements for the role, including completing a Level 2 coaching course, he does not possess any coaching experience at a professional level.
Many people in the cricketing circles believe that the PCB only advertised the head coach position as a mere formality. The board always wanted Misbah as the head coach and in order to facilitate him, they only asked for Level 2 coaching course as one of the requirements.
