Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is facing difficulties in finding a coach. Chairman PCB Mohsin Naqvi desires a foreign head coach, however, his assistants will be Pakistani.

Former Australian all-rounder Shane Watson was reportedly negotiating deals worth $2 million annually, but according to Mohsin Naqvi, the deal couldn't be finalized due to surfacing of details on media.

Sources revealed that the board also contacted former English coach Andy Flower, but he declined. Islamabad United's title-winning coach Mike Hesson also showed no interest.

Furthermore, Darren Sammy has a contract with the West Indian Board, so he was not available. Former Australian cricketer Simon Katich also declined. Talks were held with Justin Langer but no positive response has been received so far.

Interestingly, the authorities do not want to appoint their former stars in top positions. Sources close to Azhar Mahmood who resides in  England and Saqlain Mushtaq, confirmed that no contact has been made.

Moreover, Matthew Hayden, who was associated with the team in the past, has also been approached by the board. It has been reported that most coaches are not available due to commitments in the IPL. Nevertheless, the board is hopeful of some positive progress next week.
