Owners have opined that holding other events with the PSL will damage the brand. They were also not taken into confidence while announcing Junior League. Initially, it was decided to raise the concerns in the meeting with PCB Chairman but now franchises will send a joint letter.

When this correspondent contacted PCB Director Media Sami-ul-Hasan Burney, he said that the cricket board will soon take the franchises into confidence regarding Pakistan Junior League and Women's PSL.

"It is a matter if opinion and the PCB will speak with the franchises to update them on the philosophy, background, advantages and positives of JPL and women's league,"

On the other hand, franchises also asked to finalize the accounts details of the fifth and sixth editions of PSL.

In this regard Sami-ul-Hasan Burney said: "PCB has already shared details on event revenues with the franchises of PSL 5 and 6.

As per sources, the accounts of fifth and sixth editions were not finalized due to some legal issues which are now almost resolved.

Remember, Ramiz Raja also stated that a single franchise had made a profit of PKR 90 crore from the seventh edition but this was deemed incorrect by the franchise owners.

They opined that since accounts have not been finalized, how come one can know the details of receiving such a large amount of money.

"On the event expenses, it can take up to 90 days for the reconciliation process as various invoices and bills have to be submitted. In this regard, certain information from a few teams is awaited," Sami added.

Meanwhile, franchises have long demanded PCB to form a separate company of PSL with different staff. Sami informed that this discussion has been ongoing for the past four years. This is not off the table but no decision has been made either.
