The ACC plans to initiate the bidding process for media rights for the Asia Cup within the upcoming month, having sought advice from Indian broadcasting companies.

According to a report by Cricbuzz, ACC plans to offer both four-year and eight-year deals, but broadcasters seem inclined towards the longer term. The tender will cover four Asia Cup events, including two 50-over tournaments and two Twenty20 competitions.

To avoid controversy, ACC will specify that Asia Cups will be held at venues outside India and Pakistan. This move aims to prevent issues like the last tournament, which had a hybrid format due to India's refusal to play in Pakistan.

Potential hosts for future tournaments include Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, UAE, and Oman.

The previous media rights deal was valued at around $80 million for four editions. ACC anticipates increased value, especially with the prospect of two to three India-Pakistan matches per edition.
