Multan Sultans are the first team to qualify for PSL 9 playoffs
Multan Sultans has made history by appointing Catherine Dalton as the fast bowling coach and Alex Hartley as the spin bowling coach.
Multan Sultans are the first team to qualify for PSL 9 playoffs and are currently leading the table with 12 points after eight matches, which serve as a testament to the team's commitment to excellence and inclusivity.
However, Alex Hartley, the spin bowling coach for Multan Sultans, believes the media and certain individuals seemingly wanted the team to fail due to the inclusion of two female coaches.
"I think the press and some wider people wanted us to fail because we had two females on the coaching staff," Hartley told Geo Super.
Despite these obstacles, Hartley highlighted the team's determination and resilience to prove themselves through their on-field performance.
Dalton, a former Ireland cricketer, also shared her excitement about the unprecedented experience of being a female coach in franchise cricket.
"It's been an amazing experience. Obviously, as a female coach, it's something a little bit different. It's never happened in franchise cricket.
"It has been an amazing experience, travelling around to different places, seeing all the fans, they've been so supportive," Dalton added.
