Quetta Gladiators’ pacer Anwar Ali has tested positive for Covid-19, who will take no further part in the HBL Pakistan Super League (PSL) season six, a day after fellow speedster Naseem Shah was ruled out of the event.

Ali is currently in isolation on a separate floor of the hotel, where all the players are staying, in Karachi.

“The Quetta Gladiators all-rounder Anwar Ali has tested positive for Covid-19. He is already in isolation in Karachi,” Gladiators said in a statement.

Earlier, Shah had been released from isolation in Lahore after he breached the protocols for departure from Pakistan by arriving at the designated hotel with a non-compliant RT-PCR test result.

Due to lack of time, as team are set to leave for Abu Dhabi tomorrow, and quarantine restrictions, Quetta won’t be able to replace both these players for the remaining matches.
