Rain is likely to play spoilsport during the second Test between England and Pakistan that is scheduled to begin on Thursday at the Ageas Bowl in Southampton.

According to BBC’s weather report, a warm yet wet week is expected in the region with temperatures as high as 25 degrees along with intermittent rain forecasts for all five days of the second Test.

Thundery showers are forecast with a yellow weather warning in place for the first four days of the second Test, which could result in delays that could impact the match to a significant degree.

The weather report could throw shade for fans expecting a thrilling encounter similar to that of the first Test at Manchester which was won in spectacular fashion by the England side with three wickets to spare.

Pakistan had the upper hand and looked like the favourites to come away with the victory however an incredible second-innings partnership between all-rounder Chris Woakes and wicketkeeper-batsman Jos Buttler on day four turned the tide in England’s favour and resulted in a grand victory for their side.

England currently lead the three-match Test series one-nil.
