Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Ramiz Raja, who has been performing his duties in an exemplary manner, has no plans to step down from his position.

According to details, the newly-formed government is also refraining from sending the former cricketer home. Although many want Raja to resign on his own but he did not take this step on advice of high-profile personality.

Currently, cricket is not one of the main priorities of the government. Some people close to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif want the role of chairman but Patron-in-Chief has not intervened in this matter.

The removal of Raja may open a new Pandora's box as he is performing his duties well; therefore the government is avoiding it.

On the other hand, former Prime Minister Imran, who brought Ramiz Raja, said that he is free to make decision regarding PCB chairmanship.

While speaking to reporters at his residence on Monday, Imran Khan said that Ramiz is his player and will fight till the last ball.

"Ramiz is free to make a decision regarding PCB chairmanship. He will decide his future himself," former premier shared. "Ramiz is my player and he will compete against the opposition till last," he added.

Remember, Ramiz was elected unopposed as PCB Chairman in September 2021 after being nominated by then Prime Minister Imran Khan.
