Ramiz Raja is awaiting a signal from the newly-formed government before making any further decision about working as the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman.

The talks of change started after Imran Khan was out from power through a vote of a no-confidence motion on Sunday, becoming the first prime minister in the country's history to be unseated by a parliamentary revolt.

As history suggests, a change of PCB Chairman becomes mandatory after a switch in power.

Former PCB Chairman Najam Sethi also waited to step down after the departure of the PML-N government. He also had offered favourable position to Zakir Khan, who is close to former Prime Minister Imran Khan, but didn't stay after no signal from the PTI government back in 2018.

Reports were circulating that Ramiz would resign by the Monday evening. While replying to this correspondent, Ramiz denied the reports.

"Will you resign by evening?". the correspondent asked. "The news is wrong," Ramiz answered.

According to sources, the new government has various new challenges; therefore, they are reluctant to take any decision over PCB Chairman in a rush.

On the other hand, Najam Sethi is also ready to become the new PCB Chairman. As soon as Ramiz will think that there is no point in staying as chairman, he will step down.
