Riaz gets into heated altercation with Roy, Sarfaraz in HBL PSL 5

Peshawar Zalmi’s fast-bowler Wahab Riaz got into a heated altercations with Quetta Gladiators captain Sarfaraz Ahmed and opening batsman Jason Roy during their match at the National Stadium in Karachi on Saturday.

Riaz blew a kiss to Roy at the end of the Quetta Gladiators innings. Sarfaraz came forward in the defence of his teammate. Riaz then proceeded towards the Quetta Gladiators skipper with intent after the latter advanced towards him.

Quetta Gladiators mentor Sir Vivian Richards stepped in between the players and diffused the situation by stopping Sarfaraz. Peshawar Zalmi skipper Darren Sammy came forward to stop Riaz from their side.

There was another altercation between Roy and Riaz earlier in the match as well. Peshawar Zalmi won the match in a dominant manner by six wickets on the back of a scintillating hundred from wicketkeeper-batsman Kamran Akmal.

"They are good friends but these things happen in the heat of the moment. I don't think there is anything to worry about," said Kamran Akmal after the match while responding to a question on the incident.
