India claimed a comfortable 3-0 series win over West Indies yesterday under the leadership of Rohit Sharma at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata.

The Men in Blue have now won nine consecutive T20I games too. They outclassed Afghanistan, Scotland and Namibia in T20I World Cup, followed by series win against New Zealand and West Indies at home.

Meanwhile, Rohit Sharma became the first Indian skipper to complete three or more series whitewashes in the shortest format of the game.

Rohit, who has 21 wins in 25 games as captain, has led India to clean sweeps against Sri Lanka (2017), West Indies (2018), New Zealand (2021).

The 34-year-old has joined former Pakistan captain Sarfaraz Ahmed and Afghanistan's Asghar Afghan in this elite club. Rohit is the third captain in the shortest format to secure three series whitewashes.

Pakistan whitewashed opponents five times under Sarfaraz while Afghanistan bagged clean sweeps four times under Asghar.

Most whitewashes as captain

Sarfaraz Ahmed (PAK) - Five (2016-2019)

Asghar Afghan (AFG) - Four (2015-2021)

Rohit Sharma (IND) - Three (2017-2022)
