Indian captain Rohit Sharma, at 37 years and 60 days old, became the second oldest captain to win an ICC trophy, leading his team to a second T20 World Cup title against South Africa in Barbados.

This victory also made him the oldest captain to secure a T20 World Cup. The only captain older than Rohit to win an ICC tournament final is Imran Khan, who was 39 years and 172 days old when Pakistan triumphed over England in the 1992 ODI World Cup final.

Following this historic win, Rohit Sharma and veteran batter Virat Kohli announced their retirement from T20 Internationals.
